Some time ago we made the recommendation that everyone should go and live in Lhasa Tibet. Going to visit Israel and Jerusalem is sort of the same thing. It’s the home to the big three monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. There is an energy that is taken from a visit to the Holy land and Jerusalem in particular. A palpable sense of history and conflict that still very much hangs in the air. It hasn’t changed all that much in the thousands of years, although the city of Jerusalem has grown and the State of Israel is now the one success story of the Middle East (some may argue that). It is truly a meeting place of the world where cultures clash, ideas mingle and relationship become either more complicated or simplified. All of this leads in some way hopefully for us to discover “who God is within ourselves”, and isn’t that kind of the point?
