Hey there’s this one probably shouldn’t be all that hard to convince any of you all to do. Heck it’s the winter, and its cold out, pretty much wherever you might be, unless of course you live yourself in Miami. Yep, it’s that time of year and it’s been going strong for quite some time, but Art Basel in Miami is rapidly approaching. Never been to a great Art Fair, here’s your chance. We would say that it’s easily accessible and it is, in theory, other than for the fact that flights are difficult to get and hotels are jam packed and hike up their prices to astronomical levels. That being said, it is a great place to see wonderful art works, or maybe dubious art, if you’re not a big contemporary art buff.
The main event happens at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Then there are what can best be described as trainers littered across the beach and streets and Lincoln Road where Galleries set up Pop-Ups. Lastly of course there is the satellite efforts in the design district.
It’s fun to go, if not a little silly in that there are lots of people gasping and hooing and ahhhing over work that may or may not have any real significance.
Oh and remember when we suggested, buy a piece of great art, this is not the place to do it, you are not going to be getting any “deals”, so keep your wallet and credit card in your pants.
