Maybe this one is a little too obvious, like many Bucket List ideas, but if we didn’t include it then there would probably be a whole lot of internet troll style complaints to the effect of “what kind of a website are you anyway?”… so, go visit the Taj Mahal. It’s a very pretty place, the tomb that is, not necessarily the surrounding areas, most of India is of course a third world country.
The Taj Mahal is one of the single largest labors of love ever conceived, if you’re super type-a personality then you’ve already reserved your burial plot, but this goes way and above that:
The Taj Mahal is 561 feet high at its tallest point, it took 17 years to build, which actually isn’t all that long if you think about it, more than 100 elephants were used in its construction, employ, transportation and an army of 22,000 workers were used to actually put the whole thing together, masons, stonecutters, artists, painters… wow.
It also was one of the stops for Karl Pilkington on an Idiot Abroad – so that’s pretty great.
