Everybody I’ve ever met loves Moonstruck, how can you not, a great 1980’s movie (1987), with Cher and Danny Aiello in their prime, a very young Nick Cage. It’s romance with enough of a little harder Brooklyn style soul to it and arguably it made Brooklyn Heights cool. Supposedly the Huxtables lived in the Heights also, but not really. Brooklyn Heights is one of those great New York City neighborhoods, just off of Manhattan, in point of fact overlooking lower Manhattan, brick and some cobblestone, low slung beautiful townhouses, it wouldn’t be too far off to call it a village of its own in one of the worlds greatest cities. Anyone who has lived there will tell you it’s a wonderful thing actually saying hi to your neighbors, living in a small NYC community, going to the local shops, having a walk across the Brooklyn bridge into lower Manhattan. Like everywhere across NYC, prices are bananas and probably aren;t going to come down any time soon if ever really, so odds are for most of us it’s renting a small apartment in a brownstone, even if for a few months… spring, summer and fall are the best times of the year, August can be very hot. Just fyi.
